The Annette Silva Women with Drive Golf Tournament in benefit of Credit Valley Hospital Foundation
S+C Partners LLP Chartered Accountants decided to discontinue hosting its own annual golf tournament in favour of supporting the Credit Valley Hospital Foundation by signing on as the Title Sponsor of their annual Women with Drive golf tournament. In honour of the memory of a very special member of the S+C team, the tournament has been renamed: The Annette Silva Women with Drive golf tournament.
“We are very pleased to be involved with this event and to be working in conjunction with the Foundation” reports Kalin McDonald, Client Service Partner and Treasurer of the Credit Valley Hospital Foundation. “It was difficult to make the decision to discontinue our event after having held it for 15 consecutive years and after having raised more than $449,000 for Credit Valley. We are appreciative of all of the efforts of our team members, our clients, our business partners and friends of the firm, their past attendance and tremendous support.”
Annette Silva was a Women with drive.
Sadly, Annette lost her 3-year fight with breast cancer on September 10, 2011 at 46 years of age. By articipating in this event, we celebrate her life and her memory in support of one of her favourite causes: The Credit Valley Hospital.
Annette was promoted to Client Service Partner at S+C Partners LLP in January 2000 after starting as the firm’s first co-op student in 1987. She was the first student to pass her Uniform Final Examinations to become a Chartered Accountant in 1990.
Annette was immensely talented. A graduate of Brock University, she was also a Certified Financial Planner and Trust and Estate Practitioner. Annette was the backbone of our tax department. She led our Human Resource function for many years and was responsible for hiring and training many of our students.
Annette loved our annual charity golf day. Annette joined us in June 2011 to celebrate the firm’s 15th annual charity golf tournament in benefit of Credit Valley. Annette was a reluctant golfer herself but never hesitated to tee it up for a great cause. She was well known at the Credit Valley Hospital, not because of her patient status but because of the loving, caring and philanthropic person that she was.
We miss Annette every day. She was the firm’s Easter Bunny and unofficial photographer. She organized our Christmas party and our Childrens’ skating party. Annette knew the names and birthdays of every child born to the employees of the firm. She cared about her work, her clients and the people she worked with.
Annette was our business partner and friend. S+C Partners LLP is very pleased to be the title sponsor of this year’s Women with Drive. Nothing gives us greater pleasure than to sponsor this event in Annette Silva’s name.
