Junior Achievement

S+C Junior Achievement

Each June the firm sends out volunteer teams into the Mississauga community to meet classrooms of grade 8 students. The firm delivered the “Economics for Success” program to these students.  The program takes students through household budgeting exercises and reinforces the importance of staying in school and the positive impact of post-secondary education on income.

Junior Achievement as been inspiring Canadian youth for over 50 years.  Junior Achievement of Central Ontario reaches 75,000 students in 2,745 classrooms in Toronto, Peel, Halton, York Region and Simcoe annually.

“Congratulations and well done. I’m excited about our great new relationship and the difference the Sidler team is making for these students”

Jeff Good, President & CEO
Junior Achievement of Central Ontario

“Tomken’s Junior Achievement Day with Sidler & Company LLP was a most beneficial opportunity. Teachers have spoken very positively regarding the relevance and the level of engagement with the program for our students. Please pass on a huge applause for the Sidler volunteers for their major role in delivering the ESIS Program in a most professional and realistic manner. When chatting with Grade 8 students, aside from their immediate response of enjoyment for the day, they speak of having gained a different perspective for the future.

The JA Program is a positive learning experience for everyone – students, teachers and corporate volunteers. It is through the commitment and generosity of companies such as Sidler that this continues to be a great opportunity for students. The fact that your company has shared this moment in such a positive way through the Mississauga News, emphasizes Sidler’s commitment in giving back to the community.

Tomken hopes that all the participating volunteers found the day to be a rewarding experience. Please convey our thanks to all for providing a terrific day at Tomken.”
